HGF’s annual IP in Retail Conference is back and will take place on Wednesday 27th September in Manchester and Monday 13th November 2023 in London.
With the global pandemic over, retail is encountering new challenges. We have seen the rise of technology and artificial intelligence, including Generative AI such as ChatGPT. Consumers are increasingly concerned over the impact their retail spending is having on the environment, but can some retailers and brand owners be accused of ‘greenwashing’? Quiet luxury is also a new trend; how does this impact retailers and the protection of IP? The retail space has also been dominated by a series of cases concerning lookalikes, both in the trade mark and design fields. Is this an area of increasing opportunity or concern for retailers and brand owners? Finally we come to influencers and influencing.
